Biography
Shaun Reddick is a seasoned educator with 33 years of experience in the classroom, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a passion for hands-on learning. Shaun taught for the Burrell School District, for 25 years, Shaun specialized in teaching middle school physical science, inspiring curiosity and fostering a deep understanding of the natural world.
In addition to physical science, Shaun spent one year teaching metal shop, where students learned practical skills in craftsmanship and design. During his last 7 years in Burrell, Shaun ran the district’s makerspace, empowering students to explore creativity and innovation through project-based learning and the use of advanced tools and technology.
For the past 15 years, Shaun has also led STEM-based student groups that worked with local manufacturers, bridging the gap between education and industry. Shaun’s commitment to workforce readiness extended further through running a class focused on manufacturing maintenance, safety, and quality pre-apprenticeships, helping students prepare for careers in the manufacturing sector.
With 3 years of experience running a makerspace classroom at the middle school level and 4 years at the high school level, Shaun has developed the ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse student populations, ensuring each student has the opportunity to succeed. Known for a hands-on, student-centered teaching style, Shaun is committed to fostering a love for learning and developing critical thinking skills that will serve students both in and out of the classroom.
